Luigi Leblanc is an engineer certified in health information technology with over 12 years of experience in telemedicine and health information technology and the Director of Technology for Zane Networks. He has served as the technical project manager for several national and international HIT research and application development initiatives.
As Director of Zane Networks he works with the Minority Organ Transplant Teaching Education Program (MOTTEP), where he is implementing the HIT components of a hypertension and diabetes NIH funded health information technology research initiative. He has also led several web and application development projects with national organizations such as the National Medical Association, Johns Hopkins University’s Child Development-Child Policing Program and the Children’s Research Institute.
Luigi’s international experience began 8 years ago, when he was instrumental in the development and deployment of the Howard University Internet Teaching Tool (EMITT), an online tutorial that combines video and text, to teach residents at the University of the Transkei and Umtata General Hospital in South Africa. He also has worked as part of an implementation team establishing a telemedicine exchange between Howard University College of Medicine and Igbinedion University, in Okada, Nigeria.
Previously Luigi served as the head of technology for the Howard University Telehealth Sciences and Advanced Technology Center (HUTSATC), overseeing all the technical needs of HUTSATC’s services. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering, a Masters of Public Health and is a Certified Health Information Technology Professional.
